“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."
Muhammad Ali
One of the most powerful truths about change is that it rarely happens all at once. Instead, it’s often the result of countless small actions that build momentum over time. A single kind word, a small donation, or a volunteer shift at a local shelter can trigger a chain reaction of goodwill that spreads through families, communities, and even across the world.
October is Economic and Community Development Month throughout Rotary International. At the Rotary Club of Westlake-Bay Village, we join Rotarians worldwide in recognizing the vital role economic stability plays in building strong, resilient communities.
Rotary’s global framework emphasizes five key pillars of sustainable growth: creating sustainable livelihoods, advancing vocational training and microfinance, fostering mentoring and professional growth, uplifting the local marketplace, and working toward eradicating poverty together—with a special focus on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17th.
We invite our local community to learn more about how Rotary creates pathways to economic opportunity across the globe.
