Local Club Banner

Our current local club banner was designed by Rotarian Walter W. (Bill) Walzer shortly after Bay Village became a part of the Club's jurisdiction.

The four wheels on our banner illustrate how the Rotary Club's activities in the neighboring cities of Westlake and Bay Village, each depicted on a Rotary wheel, mesh precisely with our District and Rotary International, represented on the other two wheels.

The four gear wheels are also symbolic of the far-reaching influence of Rotary International, representing the four points of the compass and spanning the four corners of the earth. They also represent the four Rotary avenues of Club service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, and International Service, and also reflect the Rotary Four-way Test of the things we think, say, and do. How the ideals of service and fellowship, as performed at the Club level and transferred through the three levels of Rotary organization, are graphically and colorfully illustrated.
