We are all familiar with Jeff Appel's (our President Elect) involvement with the Alzheimer's Association and the Club's dedication to this cause in Northeast Ohio. Jeff, with the club's support, has asked Joe Kraft to lead our involvement in the walk. The information below provides details about the walk and how you can get involved. Please help us by walking on October 4th, making a donation, or doing both. Walk day will be here before we know it! Please respond by clicking the link below to register your participation. (Note: The link is live. When you hover over it to click on it it will go from blue to black text. Click and it will take you to our page!) Join our Rotary team or help us reach the fundraising goal. Thank you in advance for any support you can provide. https://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2025/OH-ClevelandArea?team_id=974949&pg=team&fr_id=18812

How ZuZus Chocolates Helps Fight Alzheimers
Oct. 08, 2025 7:30 a.m.
ZuZu Chocolates was established in 2019. They launched a dessert truck in 2020 and in 2022 opened their first shop in Westlake, Ohio.Just a few short years later, they outgrew thier shop and, in 2024, moved across the plaza to open a larger kitchen and store. ZuZu Chocolates is named after the owners Mom, Zahia "ZuZu," who fought a 15-year battle with Alzheimer's. They donate to the Alzheimer's Association and have helped raise over $70,000! In 2023 they founded the Zahia Nasrallah Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our mission is to keep raising funds that will help put an end to Alzheimer's disease. |

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is recruiting volunteers to assist at our Community Resource Center`s Healthy Choice Food Market! The GCFB Community Resource Center`s Healthy Choice Food Market is a neighbor choice food market which allows neighbors to select their own food instead of receiving a pre-packed or standard bag of groceries. With this method, neighbors do not have to take items they already have, do not like, or cannot eat for health or personal reasons. Having the opportunity to choose their own food gives the people being served a sense of dignity and control, limits waste, and allows them to tailor the help they receive to be the best possible fit for their own unique situation. We encourage nudges or environmental cues to help neighbors select the healthiest food options available. Each day, volunteers help us serve hundreds of our neighbors at the market. Because of this, volunteers interested at helping at the market should be comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds. Volunteer Duties Include: Assisting neighbors with shopping and item selection in the market. Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe/heel footwear for all of our projects (NO CROCS, SANDALS, FLIP-FLOPS, ETC).
Volunteer Arrival Instructions Please note that it is important that all volunteers arrive on time in order to allow us to serve our neighbors as efficiently as possible. Please let us know if you know that you or your group will not be able to arrive on time. Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe/closed-heel footwear (no crocs, sandals, flip-flops, etc.) We recommend wearing comfortable footwear since volunteers can plan to be on their feet for much of the shift.
Please review the attached USDA Civil Rights Training prior to the volunteer shift. All GCFB volunteers working with the public are required to review the training prior to arrival. Let us know if you have any questions at all! Meeting Location: View Map / Get Directions Please follow these instructions to register online for this event: Private Registration Code: fCLfBG |

Dec. 03, 2025 7:30 a.m.
Join us on Wednesday, December 3rd, for a special breakfast event designed to spark connections and share the spirit of Rotary. Instead of our regular club business, we’ll enjoy a hot breakfast together and welcome potential new members to learn more about who we are and what we do. Bring a friend, a colleague, or someone curious about Rotary — and discover the possibilities that grow when community comes together. |

The Collaborative to End Human Trafficking
Jan. 21, 2026 7:30 a.m.
The Collaborative to End Human Trafficking began in 2007 and was built on the understanding that a multifaceted human rights and public health issue like human trafficking cannot be solved by one organization or system alone. We recognized that only when we bring people together to unlock our collective potential can we create solutions that break the cycle of human trafficking. |
