Our guest speaker today was Meredith La Vecchia from the Village Project. Village Project was established in 2010 to provide nourishing meals and extended care and service to our neighbors experiencing cancer. They provide a vehicle to approach the devastating disease of cancer in a positive hopeful manner by utilizing individual gifts and talents in a corporate, multi-generational setting to provide healthy meals, extended support and an opportunity for all to experience the joy of serving.
Village project is located on West Oviatt in Bay Village, has over 600 volunteers, and provides three meals per person, per week, to 25-30 families each week. Volunteer students do all the cooking and volunteer drivers deliver the meals each Wednesday. They grow most of their own food in the community garden on Wolf Rd. For more information or to make a donation, visit their website at www.ourvillageproject.com.
