The Rotary Club of Westlake Bay Village held its weekly Wednesday meeting on June 14, 2023.  The meeting was a hybrid with 14

members meeting via zoom and in person.

 

Terri presented the club with a Rotary flag from the local district in Iceland.

 

Plans are underway for the installation of new officers. We will be meeting at Arrabiata’s Italian Restaurant, 600 Dover Center Rd. in Bay Village at 5:30 pm. Spouses are welcome but will be paid for by the member. Drinks are also the responsibility of the members. If you haven’t already responded, please do so asap.

 

The RYLA camp is currently taking place. Joe Kraft will be attending the banquet tomorrow evening, and we look forward to hearing from our attendees at a future meeting.

 

The deadline for contributions to the Rotary International Foundation is June 30^th. Terri would like to see every member participate at some level. If you haven’t already contributed, please contact Jim Strunk and make your contribution.

 

Terri announced that our grant application has been accepted, but that due to the number of applications, our award may be lower than we had hoped for. We will be doing a project utilizing our remaining shoeboxes and supporting the Hunger Warriors, supplying meals through the Epiphany Pantry at the Redeemer Crisis Center. Thanks to Jeff Appel for spearheading this very worthwhile project.

 

We are up to 55 artists for the Art Festival. There will be a committee meeting on Tuesday, June 20^th, at the Elks at 6:00 pm. As this is an all hands-on deck project, please see Jeff Appel and sign up on the volunteer sheet.
