In case you missed last week's meeting, we had our special guest: Teri Speck - Past President, who presented on her trip to the Rotary International Convention in Australia. A great power point with outstanding pictures
The Rotary Club of Westlake Bay Village held its weekly Wednesday meeting on July 5, 2023. The meeting was a hybrid with 14 members meeting via zoom and in person. President Bob Maver called
the meeting to order at 7:31 a.m. and began with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the Rotary Four-Way Test.
Bob welcomed everyone to his first meeting and thanked Past-president Terri for her valued leadership over the last year. One of his first goals is
to increase the membership by at least 10%, and to diversify our membership. Please be thinking of who we can invite to join our club.
Andrew shared a treasure trove of Rotary items he stumbled across as he was preparing the Rotary display at the library. Be sure to visit the display as it is truly of work of art.
Speaking of Art, Joe, Andrew and the committees are putting the final touches on the Art Festival. There will be a committee meeting at the Elks Thursday, July 13 th at 6:00pm.
Andrew and Joe Hudak are booking speakers into August and September. If you have suggestions for new speakers, please pass along.
Start lining up your foursomes for our golf outing to be held October 13th at Mallard Creek. More details will be coming but save the date.
Our speaker today was Terri Speck. Terri shared many details from her trip to Australia for the Rotary International convention. She attended many sessions, met many new Rotarians, and had a chance to visit old friends from when she was an exchange student herself in Australia. Terri is the perfect embodiment of a Rotarian and we are very fortunate to have her as a member of our club.
There was time for our happy thoughts, and we adjourned at 8:31
