Our speaker today was Sarah Rintamaki, a fourth generation Rotarian, and founder and Executive Director of Connecting for Kids. Sarah introduced us to Rotary Works, a networking opportunity through the Cleveland Rotary Club. Rotary Works meets the third Tuesday of each month from 8-9 am at Karpinski Engineering in the first floor lobby. As Rotarians, we have always appreciated the opportunities
membership presents to do business with like-minded individuals who share the same business values and ethics. Join them for a casual hour to share:
Who do you serve?
What problem do you solve?
Who is your ideal referral?
Sarah then spoke about Connecting for Kids for the benefit of our newer members who weren’t familiar with what they do. Connecting for Kids is a group in Northeast Ohio that helps parents. They support families who are worried about their child — whether it’s autism, ADHD, anxiety, school or just a hard time in life offering free programs, help finding resources and a caring community where parents feel welcome. They are currently serving children age 0-12, but just voted to expand to serve teens up to age 17. That newer program should be up and running within the next two years. They currently have offer over 150 programs around the neighborhood and an additional 150 programs at the library.
We can help support them at their Pour for a Purpose fundraiser June 26 th at Hail Mary’s, where our own Andrew Mangels is the celebrity bartender from 5-8, or by participating in the Embrace the Pace on Saturday August 22 nd . There will be a 5K Run/Walk, a one-mile Run/Walk, and a kids race.
