The Rotary Club of Westlake-Bay Village held its weekly Wednesday meeting on June 3, 2026. The meeting was a hybrid meeting with 22 participants meeting via zoom and in person at Westlake Porter Public
Library. President Amy Kubacki called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m., began with a prayer and meditation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the Rotary Four-Way Test. Amy welcomed our guests, Westlake scholarship winner Mukesh Mannava and his father Anil, and Past District Governor David Jones.
Bob Maver introduced Mukesh Mannava and presented him with the scholarship check. Mukesh told us about himself and his involvement in Westlake High School. He originally had planned to attend The Ohio
State University, but plans recently changed and now he will be attending UCLA, where he hopes to become a doctor.
Andrew thanked all the volunteers who showed up to help build the fence and ramp for the Footpath Foundation. There is a little more work to be done, and he is requesting volunteers to finish the project on June 13 th.
The Art Festival is right around the corner. We need several volunteers to help with the set up on Friday, July 24 th . Signups are available on ClubRunner.
Please plan on attending the Banner Exchange on June 29 th at Sleepy Hollow and support Terri as she becomes the next District Governor.
Rotary will be holding a fundraiser at the Guardians game on August 19 th . All proceeds will benefit the fight to eradicate polio.
Our speaker today was David Jones. David was District Governor in 2022-2023 and is currently the Rotary Foundation Chair for our District. He gave a brief overview of the Foundation for the benefit of our newer members. 93% of all money raised is used for projects with only 7% going towards administrative costs. There are several ways to support the foundation, and funds can be earmarked for how they are to
be used. Contributions can be made online at rotary.org/donate. Our club prefers donations to made through the Corley Foundation so Jim can track our giving. We are consistently rated in the top of all clubs
with our percent of participants.
