OPENING & CLUB BUSINESS
The meeting opened with Rotary protocol, including the invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, and the Four-Way Test. Several prospective members have now attended three meetings. A club vote is scheduled for next week, with new member installation anticipated for the last Wednesday of the month, pending scheduling availability.
FEATURED SPEAKER: MAYOR DENNIS M. CLOUGH
The club welcomed Mayor Dennis Clough, who shared insights on Westlake’s governance, fiscal health, and community investments.
Key highlights included:
• Sustained AAA bond rating through disciplined financial management
• Strategic infrastructure and recreation investments, including athletic fields and golf course enhancements
• Strong voter support for police, fire, infrastructure, and community facilities
• Discussion of a proposed statewide initiative to eliminate property taxes at age 65 and its potential impact on municipalities and schools

• The Epiphany Project was reported as a successful and well-organized event, with plans to repeat next year.
• Youth Protection Training is pending scheduling, with a preference to conduct training together at a regular meeting location.
• Members were reminded to register for upcoming food bank volunteer opportunities.
ART FEST PLANNING
Art Fest remains the club’s signature fundraiser and community event. Artist applications are already being received through the updated website. Next steps include confirming mayoral attendance, scheduling the first planning meeting, and advancing corporate sponsorship outreach.
SPONSORSHIP & OUTREACH DISCUSSION
The club discussed a potential banner sponsorship at the Westlake Recreation Center. Considerations included budget alignment, visibility benefits, and the potential precedent for future requests. A final decision will be made during budget finalization.
OPERATIONS & ADMINISTRATION
• One March speaker slot remains open; April scheduling will be confirmed.
