The Rotary Club of Westlake-Bay Village held its weekly Wednesday meeting on July 2, 2025. The meeting was a hybrid with 19 participants meeting via zoom and in person. Past President Andrew Mangels called the meeting to order at 7:34 a.m., began with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the Rotary Four-Way Test.

Andrew welcomed everyone and introduced our guests, Tubtim’s host family, Mark, Tina, Sage Ingram, and Dave Speck.

We were treated to a hot breakfast in honor of Tubtim’s last week with us. We all wished her well on her trip back home. There was also an appearance by our phantom member in his bathrobe, the inimitable
Doug Lawton.

Club news:

  • The remainder of the meeting was dedicated to the Art Festival which is rapidly approaching. Plans are well underway, and the event should be another huge success.
  • If you still need to do your Youth Protection training, please complete as soon as possible. Contact Terri if you need the link to the training. Jim has volunteered to be the Youth Protection officer effective July 1st.
  • Rotary will celebrate End Polio Now at the Guardians game on August 15th. Tickets are available.
  • Providence House is hosting a Stuff the Truck event on July 18th. Rather than providing diapers for our 5th Wednesday, we ask that you bring them prior to the 18th so we can participate in their event. They are in particular need of size 4-6 diapers.

We had time for our happy thoughts and the meeting adjourned at 8:36.
