The June Board meeting of the Westlake-Bay Village Rotary Club was held on June 25, 2025. The meeting was called to order by President Andrew Mangels at 7:30, and began with the invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Four Way Test.
In Attendance: President Andrew Mangels, Pat Graham, Jim Strunk, Joe Hudak, Joe Kraft, Jeff Appel, Amy Kubacki, Bob Maver, John Hanna, Lisa Hebert, and Patty Zinn. A quorum was present. Also in attendance were Rachel Maver, Katie Yeager, Tim Smith, Ray Glinka, Justin Hein, Kevin Krantz, and Steve Pettyjohn. PJ Scott was also a visitor at our meeting.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Jim gave the treasurer’s report for the Club. The balance in the Club account as of May 31st was $2963.04. Joe K. moved, and Joe H. seconded that we approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
- Jim next presented the proposed Club budget for Rotary year 2025-2026. Pat moved, and Bob seconded that we approve the tentative budget. After the discussion, the motion carried.
- Jim then presented the Treasurer’s report for the Corley Foundation. The balance in the Corley Foundation is $349,251.09. Pat moved and Bob seconded that the treasurer’s report for the Corley Foundation be approved. Motion carried.
New Business:
- Justin moved, and Joe H seconded that the club apply for a credit card at Citizens Bank. Motion carried. Andrew will write a policy that addresses who can use the card and what it can be used for.
- Pat moved, and Jeff seconded that we establish a Zelle account with Citizens’ Bank to facilitate members paying dues online, and other financial payments. Motion carried.
- Jim moved, and Amy seconded that we donate $1000 to Providence House to be presented at their Stuff the Bus campaign on July 18th. Motion carried.
Club News:
- Our July 2 nd meeting will feature a hot breakfast and a going-away celebration for Tubtim. The remainder of the meeting will be designated as an Art Fest meeting.
- Katie has agreed to head up the golf outing this year. There was discussion as to format and date, but it was agreed that the big draw is the clambake. More details will be forthcoming.
We had time for our happy thoughts, and the meeting was adjourned at 8:32.
