Dr. Emily Mills serves as a Portfolio Manager at Design Interactive, Inc. where she leads research and development efforts to advance digital phenotypes and digital twins to support extended reality technologies. Dr. Mills has a diverse background including work in medical devices, preclinical and government research, system evaluations, and project management (Ph.D. University of Florida, 2017; B.Sc. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, 2013). Prior to joining Design Interactive, Inc., Dr. Mills led numerous research projects at Wright-Patterson AFB supporting the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, Air Force Research Laboratory’s 711th Human Performance Wing, and the Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton. Her work focuses on human performance including quantifying physiological states using noninvasive sensors, causal mechanisms of aviator neck and back pain, biomechanical effects of cognitive workload, and evaluating new systems for military use.
