For those unable to attend today’s meeting, we had a lot of good information disbursed. There was a total of 22 people on the Zoom.

President Goggin started the meeting with a prayer by our Chaplain, the Pledge and the Rotary Four-Way Test.

Our speakers today were Tabitha Devine and Rebecca Sawchik from Best Buddies. They shared that the group used to be Circle of Friends, but due to the challenges of Covid, the merged with Best Buddies, an international goup. The group is a volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). They have been very successful in matching students throughout the year in spite of the pandemic.

Jeff Appel has prepared a spreadsheet for volunteers at the Art Festival. If you go to the club newsletter, under club business, you will see a link to access the spreadsheet. Click on “click here” and you will open the spreadsheet. It is a Google Document, so it will populate in real time and everyone will see the changes.
It’s time to begin thinking about meeting in person again. Terri, Mark and Andrew have formed a small committee to explore the logistics of hybrid meetings. We hope to start some in person meetings in July.

In attendance at today’s meeting was our Westlake scholarship winner, Anika Thomas, and her mother. Anika expressed her gratitude to the club for selecting her. She will be studying business at Cincinnati University this fall and hopes to one day own her own dance studio.

Our golf outing is scheduled for October 8th. Save the date, more details will be forthcoming.

The meeting adjourned at 8:27.
