Rotary Meeting Highlights 12-9
 
For those unable to attend today’s meeting, we had a lot of good information disbursed. There was a total of 16 people on the Zoom.
 
President Goggin started the meeting with a prayer by our Chaplain, the Pledge and the Rotary Four-Way Test.  He then introduced our guests, Patty Zinn and Lucy Bilik-Hill.
 
Per our By-laws, the Board needs to elect the slate of officers for next year. Pat moved and Joe H. second to nominate and approve the following officers for Rotary year 2021-2022
 
President: Ray Glinka
Treasurer: Doug Newcomb
Asst. Treasurer: Dick Berila
Secretary: Pat Graham
Motion carried unanimously
 
Joe Kraft gave an update on the 2021 Art Festival. He asked each member to share an artist’s name and contact info with the committee so they can add them to the database and keep in contact with them. Joe has been meeting with artists and galleries to promote the festival and has received great enthusiasm.
 
The program committee is currently booking speakers for January. If you have suggestions for speakers, please notify Joe H., Andrew, or Mark Grimm.
 
Andrew reported that the Cluster project for Connecting with Kids is wrapping up. They will be meeting tomorrow evening to pack boxes and the project will be complete.
 
Terry reported that District Grant training will be held via zoom on February 9th at 6:00 pm and again on February 20th at 9:30 am. We need two people to attend to be eligible to receive grants in the upcoming year. Matching grants will be capped at $3000 this year.
 
Jim reported that the Bay Village scholarship information is now online. He will be monitoring.
 
If anyone would like to donate to the Rotary Foundation before year’s end, please get checks to Dick, or drop off to Scott or Jim. Checks should be made out to the Corley Foundation.
 
The deadline to turn in gifts for the needy family program is December 12th. Please drop all items at the Library and remember to turn your receipts into Doug for reimbursement.
 
The District Four Way Speech Contest will be held April 10th. Our club’s contest will be held March 24th via zoom.
